Balloon decorations are a really fun way to make your party as special as possible. To make the party truly unique, choose the best decorations based on the person being celebrated. Instead of a simple colored bunch of balloons from the party store, pick balloon decorations that will have meaning to the person for whom the party is being thrown.
As a mom, I know how it goes. Your child picks a theme for their birthday party and then you order that theme on a cake, buy a quick kit of plates and napkins at the party store and then order a couple dozen balloons with the traditional, large Mylar thrown in. It doesn’t get any easier. What if, though, you’re throwing a Sweet 16 party or your child is into an odd sport like Lacrosse or they love horses?
You’d be amazed at what you can do with balloon decorations for unusual themes like these. Instead of using just a selection of balloons in a variety of colors, why not make a balloon arch or two or balloon columns and use them to fill in your party space?
Make a list of the hobbies, likes, favorite colors, and interests of the person being celebrated. Search online for Mylar Balloons in shapes that match those interests. Then, use solid color, regular balloons to make balloon arches, columns and centerpieces in colors that match the Mylar balloons.
Balloons are a very inexpensive way to decorate for a party. You can get bulk balloons for less than $.10 a piece. Even if you used 1000 balloons to fill your space (and that is a whole lot of balloons), you would spend no more than $100.
